I was just reading through some gay news sites and thought I’d share this. Seems that some folks are staging a public demonstration for gay rights based on three things I love: coffee, kissing, and gays. Throw in the Starbucks connection to Seattle, and you’ve got it all.
The idea is that on Tax Day, April 15th, there will be a kind of organized snogging for the cause at your local Starbucks. At certain times through the day, people show up and have a kiss-in. Tax day was picked because gay relationships–even when recognized in some form by the state–don’t receive the full rights and obligations of non-gay couples. Will it change the world? Perhaps not. But you know you are going to buy a coffee that day anyway, so why not have a snog with your latte and say you participated?
